Sedona Life

Last week, my brother Todd, his partner Lisa and their son Ryder came to Vancouver. Lisa was writing her real estate exam. While Lisa got in some last minute studying, Todd, Ryder, my other brother Don and I went out for dinner. We gathered at the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Company in Kitsilano. On Sunday and Monday nights, they let the kids make their own pizzas. Ryder had a ball. So did we.

While Todd was looking at the menu, he noticed they stock Sonora Ranch wines. The winery is one of several within a stone’s thrown of Sedona Heights, the development where he both lives and works. Over dinner, we decided to add a blog to his website – which I would write and Don would design, set up and maintain. Sedona Life will be just that – about life at Sedona Heights, what it’s like to live in the Okanagan, surrounded by orchards and wineries, with two lakes to play in, fabulous ski resorts and my favourite farmers market in the province.

Todd’s projects have always involved the entire family and now that Lisa has her real estate license (hurrah, she passed!), she will of course be selling the remaining lots and new homes as Todd builds them.

Before the gang left for Summerland, we went out for breakfast. Ryder asked if he could go into the kitchen. Guess we’ll have to find a restaurant in the Okanagan willing to open its doors to our budding young chef.
